My husband & I have known Myles for the last 10 years & from a very young age one could tell that he is a natural with horses. Myles is dedicated and honest and the most important thing about working with horses is that Myles actually likes them, which is very hard to find in this day and age when it comes to working with other peoples horses. He is patient and kind and enjoys all the challenges that horses brings on a day to day basis.
We have employed Myles over the years to come and ride breakers that are too small for my husband Chris to get on. We specialize in breaking, training & re education of problem horses ourselves so we are very knowledgeable on how experienced Myles has become over the years.
We have a yard of showjumping horses ourselves and was very impressed with Myles when we have seen him competing successfully at shows including Hickstead etc we have employed him to ride a couple of young showjumping horses.

From the moment Dino was diagnosed with kissing spine Myles was amazing, from schooling and putting up with Dino’s tantrums to helping me through my tears and encouraging me to ride Dino again. Now 2 years on Dino and I are up to Elementary dressage and are jumping 1m at home. I had a 5 year old young horse which needed re-backing, Myles West was recommended to me because he was known for his sympathetic but positive approach to horses. This was a horse which had already shown difficulty with lesser riders due to bronking. He was confident whilst remaining open to my opinion, so therefore was a very good chap to work with. He rebacked the horse, had it working quietly and softly in the school and was doing a bit of jumping and hacking. We have Myles back from time to time to take the horse through each of the stages of its training, ie jumping competitions etc... He is a thoroughly genuine, decent lad with great horseman ship skills, I highly recommend him and I shall be using him in the future.

"Although an experienced rider having broken and started many young horses myself, I'd hit a bit of a brick wall with a horse that was struggling with her canter to the extent I thought she may have a physical problem. After getting everything scanned and x-rayed it was evident that there was nothing physically wrong with her and our vet recommended Myles to help out. He had Polly for 2 weeks at his yard and then continued to ride her once a week once she came home while I rode her the rest of the time. The turnaround has been incredible - Myles has helped so much to get her over the mental hurdle that she had with cantering, so much so that I have been out doing dressage on her and scoring in the 70's. His patience, understanding and individual attention he pays each horse is fantastic.
